| Around the mid-1800's in Laguiole, a village in southwestern France, a new knife originated from the imagination of ironsmiths, who forged it by hand. This knife took its name from its birthplace and was christened the "Laguiole" (pronounced "Lie-Yull"), famous today all over the world for its simplicity, usefulness, authenticity and beauty.
Here, at "Forge de Laguiole", the steel blades are forged, stamped, flattened, hardened, honed, polished and sharpened according to the demanding "Laguiole" standards. The "Creators" Laguiole
